I remember first wanting to bake at 5 years old.  That was the first time I can remember tasting my grandmother’s Fudge Chocolate Cake for the first time.  I had never tasted anything like it.  All I knew is that I wanted more. 

My love for that cake helped me develop some very good sleuthing skills as I knew when she was about to bake a cake.  A pound of butter would be on the countertop and the KitchenAid would be pulled out and positioned for making that chocolate batter.  I knew then that it was cake making time and I was going to get some of that cake!

That cake and all the cakes/desserts that she and my great-grandmother would make always did one thing…made everybody smile.  I wanted that gift and I was so blessed that both my grandmother and great-grandmother shared their gift and recipes with me so I can share them with you.
